Scientific Proof By Independant Researchers
In the scientific world, the only studies that are held as credible particularly for cosmetic claims, are those done by independent researchers, and published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Yet when it comes to cosmetic companies, almost NONE conduct independent studies on the efficacy of their anti-aging skin care products. They claim to fight wrinkles and other tell-tale signs of aging like: under-eye puffiness/dark circles, sagging skin, age-spots, "feather-lips" and so on. Many fear that drawing the attention of true scientists may expose the real facts.
Instead, they tell us of "brief studies" on very fine wrinkles conducted by their paid in-house lab technicians. None of these uncontrolled studies are ever published in medical journals and are therefore not subject to medical scrutiny.
Thats why its so refreshing that South Beach Skincare has only approved ingredients proven in the scientific arena for its LifeCell anti aging and anti wrinkle cream. Its worth taking a look at some of these ingredients, and just who has endorsed them.
The Karolinska Hospital in Sweden, a world-famous medical institute, conducted studies on D3PAs anti-aging and anti-wrinkle effects on the facial skin of womens facial skin with an average age of 54.5 years. The researchers concluded that after just 12 weeks of application of D3PA the womens faces showed a "statistically significant improvement" Results on ALL women showed a decrease in skin roughness of an average 50.8% and a dramatic improvement in the "clinical characteristics related to photo-aging"
As well a world-renowned dermatologist from Yale Universitys Medical School conducted studies on patients after applying D3PA to their skin. Here are the results:
* Within one to three days, eye puffiness decreased.
* A bright, healthy glow emerged within five days.
* Tremendous shrinkage of enlarged pores in two weeks (this was surprising - and scientist dont have an explanation).
* Decrease in depth of lines and wrinkles within 8 to 12 weeks
* 70% to 80% improvement of acne and other scars after 6 months.
* And within three months of treatment, very ruddy skin began to take on a "Porcelain-Like Appearance
It is little wonder therefore that D3PA is such a key ingredient in LifeCell. But LifeCells parent company South Beach, has also included Idebenone.
Researcher Dr Andrew Scheman, M.D. from Northwestern University Medical Center firmly attests to the following:
"Smaller-than-ever molecules make Idebenone an agile, streamlined version of its chemical cousin, CoQ10. They can slip readily into dermal cells in the deepest layer of the skin, where they neutralize destructive free radicals."
European scientists agree. In double-bind placebo tests on the Idebenones analogue on aging skin and wrinkles, they concluded that Idebenone drastically reduces free-radical damage to our skin, and reduced crows feet.
So thats Idebenone and D3PA. What about Deanol?
At the American Academy of Dermatology conference, Dr. Patricia Farris said "This is the first time that we have seen evidence that any topical treatment could be helpful in treating the anatomic [muscular] changes that occur as a result of aging. Split face studies showed that patients using topical[Deanol] showappreciable lifting of the eyebrows, jowls and cheeks "
Another key ingredient in LifeCell is Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, and here is what Dr. Sumayah Jamal, MD (Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the NYU School of Medicine in New York City) says about it in WebMD:
"Botox works by destroying a protein involved in the release of a neurotransmitter that would otherwise keep a muscle tense, allowing a wrinkle to form," By stopping the tensing motion and relaxing the muscle, the wrinkle seems to disappear, she says.
With researchers of this calibre supporting the efficacy of the ingredients in LifeCell, it becomes easy to identify the unsupported claims by the well known cosmetic companies. Its important not to take such claims at face value, but to look for the science behind the claims.
